Supporting small and medium-sized enterprises remains one of the key priorities for economic recovery. This is especially true for businesses that have been forced to relocate or were established by internally displaced persons (IDPs). Below are details about the educational grant program “Restart for IDPs” by IREX and EasyBusiness, as well as important information on the ongoing government grant “Your Own Business.”

“Restart for IDPs” Educational Grant Program by IREX and EasyBusiness
This initiative aims to support businesses founded or relocated by internally displaced persons (IDPs) and help integrate them into their new communities.

  • Who is eligible to apply:

Entrepreneurs who registered their business (micro, small, or medium) before January 1, 2024, and are currently operating. The business must be founded by an IDP or relocated to a safer region.

  • Eligible regions:

Vinnytsia, Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Zakarpattia, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi, and Chernihiv regions.

  • What the program offers:

Educational component: Regular online mentoring sessions (1–2 hours per week)

Financial support: Grant of up to USD 10,000

“Your Own Business” Government Grant (eDopomoga / eGrant)
A national program supporting Ukrainians who are ready to start or scale their business. The program offers various formats tailored to different applicant categories.

Available funding amounts:
• UAH 75,000 — for individuals planning to register as private entrepreneurs (FOP)
• Up to UAH 150,000 — for entrepreneurs under the age of 25
• Up to UAH 500,000 — for families of fallen servicemembers and applicants from frontline regions
• Up to UAH 250,000 — for entrepreneurs from other regions

Important notes:
• You can apply even if you haven’t yet registered a business — registration occurs after the application is approved.
• Grant funds must be used strictly for business purposes: equipment, rent, marketing, franchise acquisition, etc.
• After receiving funding, the entrepreneur is required to create 1–2 jobs (depending on the grant amount).
• The grant is effectively repaid to the state through taxes over three years of business activity.

• You can reapply in case of initial rejection.
• A solid business idea is sufficient for application, especially for young entrepreneurs.
